On March 4, 2024, China Investment Mining (Laos) Sole Co., Ltd. reached a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Shanghai Chijin Xia Tungsten Metal Resources Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Chifeng Gold Mining Co., Ltd) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, CHIXIA Laos Holdings Limited.
Chifeng Gold Mining Co., Ltd. is a rapidly growing international gold producer, primarily engaged in gold mining, selection, and sales globally. The company has multiple mining investment projects and resource recycling projects in China, Southeast Asia, and West Africa. Its mining projects include the Jilong Mining - Zhuanshanzi Gold Mine, Wulong Mining - Wulong Gold Mine, Huatai Mining - Honghuagou Gold Mine, Jintai Mining - Xidengping Gold Mine, and Hanfeng Mining - Tianbaoshan Zinc-Lead-Copper-Molybdenum Multimetal Mine in China, as well as the Vientiane Mining - Saipan Gold-Copper Mine and Jinxing Resources - Wasa Gold Mine abroad. The resource recycling projects focus on the dismantling of waste electrical and electronic products.
The "Laos Chuanqu Province Mengkang Rare Earth Mine" project under China Investment (Laos) Mining Sole Co., Ltd. is located near Longwa Village and Sumong Village in Mengkang County, Chuanqu Province, Laos. The mining area covers 50 km², with a trial mining license covering 8.0 km² and an exploration license covering 42 km². Some sections of the mining area have been paved with gravel, making overall transportation relatively convenient during both the rainy and dry seasons.
This cooperation brings together the strengths of both parties, leveraging their respective advantages to create a collaborative platform for rare earth resource development. It aims to enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of rare earth resource development and promote the green and efficient utilization of rare earth resources in Laos.
